I'm trying to forgive myself for not getting a whole lot of work done once I got home from the crazy back to back schedule I had, but I'm beginning.

The sun is bright and warm on the front porch, the garden is growing with little, to no assistance on my part, and I'm getting a little work done every day.

Summer it seems moves forward regardless of me and my pursuit of the dream. I am a little bummed though. I thought I had found a van, but sometimes people don't respond on Marketplace like you wish they would. I'll trudge along like always making work and perhaps grow a little bit more later this year.

I'll accept that people are people flaws and all, one day I'll have my upgraded vehicle, for now I'll enjoy the sunshine, the warm dog cuddles and the growing garden.

I'm already looking forward to this amazing show with beautiful mild weather, plus wine and music. Perfect for a Mother's Day weekend.

I'm here at OPA, Oregon Potters Association in Portland. It's the last day and the official start of my season. I have chosen not to participate in any events the first quarter of the year and instead focus on creating and stocking up for the next eight months.

Hope everyone is enjoying this great day, my next stop is in the Rogue Valley

Nothing to do with pottery, but a photo drop of my recent trip to the Netherlands and what may inspire me in my upcoming work, enjoy.

We got to Keukenhof as soon as they opened at 8 am and went in through the back entrance. This was the best idea. We only had one other couple walking around.

I would later realize what a treasured moment this will be, because once 10 am hits, the tour buses show up, and crowds of people are walking around.

I was overwhelmed with how bright everything was. We had been in the gardens for about 2 hours before we had to stop and decompress with a coffee and pastries.

We would later leave at 1 pm because the garden was now full, and heaven on earth had turned into a traffic jam of people.

I will always remember this garden whenever I smell the sweet hyacinths and see the bright red of tulips.

Found this beautiful wooden curved seat at the Medford Airport and couldn't resist. How exciting it will be to experience another culture.

Looking at my past work helps propel me into better work. I need to take a moment and remember where I started and how much I have come. The beauty of my work is evolving more and more every time.

Most of my days this month have consisted of waking up to cool mornings, expecting cold weather, but never getting cold. Rain had finally come, a reminder that winter is still present. We have been treated to warm, summer-like weather for weeks. The rain is a welcome guest, here only for a few days before once more leaving us to sit in sunlight.

I make coffee slowly in a French press, grinding just enough coffee beans for my morning brew. I walk down into the basement, ignoring the half-finished glazed pots and buckets of glaze from the holiday rush of last year. Instead, I push aside the curtain I use as a door to my studio and step into my work area.

I have warm comforts here, a wall heater that I turn on the instant I enter before moving around my potters wheel and the large electric kiln to my new work table. I still need to install more lighting in this area, but in the meantime, I have the long cylinder rods propped on a shelf. I turn on my new heated foot pad, purchased not for me but the outside cats that warm themselves. I soon discovered they would rather be in their own beds in the outside cats' room.

I sit down for hours working on mugs, each one with a handle and a leaf plus mushroom decoration.

Enjoy!

Ill be back in the studio before to long, but beach walks in the sunshine are a must.

Give an artist enough downtime, and they will start doing fantastic work. I've enjoyed my time off this last month, but I'm back to work in the studio. I am creating my largest body of work in a short time because I hope to do more festivals over longer distances this year.

To accomplish this remarkable feat, I am also upgrading my vehicle. My days are spent creating and searching so that my future self may enjoy the months ahead without too much stress.

Potential new events posted as soon as I get accepted!
A little hint on location, Candy, Oregon, and the state of Idaho.

The joys if time off with side hobbies.

What do you do to relax. I'm always knitting, I knit watching TV, in my booth, and many different coffee houses. I love to be able to make something I can wear, in lush fibers.
