They'd still be dancing at Freyburg Hall if they'd let 'em. New country supergroup Strykly Country kept them on the floor til midnight way out in the sticks on a Saturday night, deep in the heart of Fayette County, Texas. Which is easy if your band has a solid 200 years of musical experience up on that stage, and the frontman used to own the most popular hall around. Those kids know what they're doing!

Ever listened to an empty dance hall?

A wise man said that Fischer Dance Hall looks like the inside of an upside-down ship. That old wood is great. In the daytime, the sun finds hundreds of little cracks to shine through. It's a beautiful, historic hall.

Stop by when you get a chance, and try to time it for when their 9-pin bowling alley is open next door. The competition is fierce and the beer is $2.

Fischer is a little community out past San Marcos on the way to Blanco. Great little spot for a ride or a wedding.

Tonight! Freyburg Hall kicks off a new season with new, regular hours!

We know a lot of folks out there who talk about wanting dance halls open on a regular basis, so walk the walk and go check out Freyburg and all they have planned. Big dances, celebrations...you can even rent the whole place for your next to-do.

Freyburg is a few miles northwest of Schulenburg in southern Fayette County. Easy to get to from I-10 or US 77.
