New 20x20 mixed media on canvas…”Spring Float”. This piece was inspired by a photo I took one Mother’s Day when I was kayaking up river (and back down) looking for two disobedient standard poodles. We all made it home and I got an invisible fence for my birthday a week later. This piece will be headed to Fairhope in March as part of my “Roads Home” series.

Next up in my yet to be named series featuring landscapes that beckon me home….”By the Water”. This mixed media 36x48 progressed rather quickly…sometimes it happens like that🥰. Fairhope, AL was a favorite destination for my mom and I…always on the hunt for antiques we didn’t need! The eastern shore of Alabama is also home to some of my favorite people…I definitely need to visit more!

The second piece in my Home series. I haven’t come up with the exact name but each piece in the collection has special meaning to ME and maybe for done of you as well😉. It’s December and you know what that means…it’s time for my annual Holiday Pop-Up at The Living Room on Broad Street(right across the hall from Living&Giving). All the proceeds from my sale will go to benefit our local YMCA. I will also be donating $500 to a local non profit, chosen by my amazing customers at the pop-up. Be sure to cast your vote when you come by. While you are there be sure to check out just down the hall. As always, Hollye will have thoughtfully curated, must have treasures that will be perfect for gifting or keeping for yourself😉. Finished this guy! 30x30 mixed media on canvas, cold wax finished, then framed in a walnut floater frame. I usually only paint landscapes or florals but I wanted to challenge myself with my new series entitled, “Sweet Home”. Paintings on this series all remind me of home. When a friend posted this picture, I knew I wanted to paint it. First, it was a beautiful shot but really it’s what the picture represented. My friends had just a last goodbye to their mom/mother in law/ granny. They spent the day doing things she would have loved and this was the sunset that day. What a beautiful way to end the day celebrating a loved one. I hope the home it finds its way into will be filled with the joy and sometimes complicated love that is family.
