Thrilled and honored beyond words to be chosen by my peers for the Artists Choice Award at tonight's Patron Party! My painting "The Old King's Fish Camp" 16x24" was a real treat to paint over in Guinea Virginia.

Lots and lots to paint in this area!

A different kind of post today! Usually as my dad's social media representation, I stay behind the scenes but he could use some support right now.

This past Halloween I found myself leaving work early, rushing to UMass Memorial after learning my dad had collapsed on the golf course. At the time, I didn’t have any other information than that at one point he didn’t have a pulse. I couldn’t help but spiral, imagining the worst-case scenario sitting in traffic on Route 2. I'm so grateful he is still with us and on the mend!

My dad is one of my favorite people on this planet. He is kind, generous, a patient teacher, and a great listener. Visits with my dad always guarantee the best breakfast I’ve had in weeks (he makes a mean omelet), a jam session (he’s taught me everything I know about the guitar), and lots of laughs. Even as he recovered in the hospital and hadn’t quite regained lucidity, we could tell his sense of humor remained well intact. Being self-employed, there aren’t a ton of safety nets for my dad and stepmom to fall back on. Anything you can do to help them get through the winter would mean so much to us whether it's donating to the link below, purchasing their work, or just sharing this with your network!

Both paintings below were done by John Sloan using the same palette, but he emphasized color differently in each painting to fit the scene. It's hard to believe isn't it?! We'd love to hear some feedback and to let us know you are interested.

Pam and I are teaching a color workshop Nov 9 and 10 in our Rollinsford Studio. We will explore some tried and true palettes that Henri, Sloan and Bellows used throughout their lifetime. Based from what H.G. Maratta and Denman Ross had to say about color harmony, I've simplified them to work with my Chromatic Color Palette. This will be a great workshop. We will do an online version at some point at the beginning of the new year too for anyone who can't make the in-person one. I encourage you to sign up. There are a few slots left!
