How did it go? I get asked that by people at the end of an event. Everyone wants to see pictures and videos snippets. Usually I get asked this by those that did not come to the event, and had some excuse to not show up. I usually dont bother and just tell them "If you came, you would know". But just for this one time.. I will tell you..... and I say this for multiple layered reasons.....We are short staffed and so editing and sorting images and videos.. has become a lower item on the burner. I wont be posting any images or videos. But here is the story you can read. And with a bit of imagination.. you can envision it. Thank you for understanding. We stayed till there were no more people. We worked hard this week. Found a new venue at the last minute, gathered all the equipment, pieces and parts for the event itself, loaded, unloaded, re-loaded, and re-unloaded the van multiple times, put out lots of extra and fast advertising to let people know the event venue was changed, created hand made street signs when the vinyl printer broke, stayed up late to hand fold the programs with the last minute vendor, venue and artists information, communicated with each and every single ticket buyer on the phone or via chat or email to give the address to the new location, hung posters in the old venue to announce the change of venues, still pushed tickets sales online, picked up fresh food and drinks for the guests from organic farmer and sponsor Richert Phillips Farms out of Indiana (at the Arlington Heights Market. I did not drive to Indiana but he came from there with his produce). Made sure the vendors, Queen, attendees, and artists were well fed, I checked emails and phone calls non stop, drove what feels like a million miles, arrived super early to put up the signs, set up the tent, tables, food and the Queen's Throne, chased the bees away, set up the sales table, talked with vendors and artists, talked with attendees, gave a few concerts, cooked up delicious brats, ate lots of fresh grapes, organic peaches, and ...brats, and just had a great time. I hope you all did too. Tonight I am tired but feeling good. The sun shone all day. My costume needs a good wash. My boots need some fixin', I need to replenish my art for sale (yes, I sold a bunch ), my car's suspension needs a fix, (apparently you can only load so much into a custom van before it says.. hey! knock it off! and starts to squeak over every single bump in the road. Next year, I will rent a trailer) I have the cars ready to unload at the locker, the leftover food is in the fridge, my guitar is next to my bed, bookkeeping is done and balanced, bills paid, supper eaten, and I even got a chance to catch a short movie with a friend, and chat with some friends on zoom. I hope you all had a great day too! All I need now is a hot tub and pool. hmmm... need to work on that. LOL :). Till next year! I hope to see you then!, Peace, Barb
