Okay local friends — I’ve been pulling some late nights at the wheel this week (picture me: clay in my hair, coffee in my veins) to make one more big batch of pottery for the year. This one’s just for you! 🏺✨Come find me at Story City’s Art in the Park this Sunday and snag some fresh treasures before they disappear.Bring your friends, bring your tote bags, bring me more coffee. 😉

I’ll be at the Des Moines Farmers Market tomorrow with this small-batch release—just 15 mugs in total. Come early, find your favorite, and take home a piece that’s as unique as your morning coffee ritual.

Okay, time for a little life update.

With new tariffs hitting many of my clay and glaze materials and the rising cost of, well, everything, I’ve had to take a hard look at how to keep my pottery practice sustainable. Not just for me, but for you—my community, my customers, and my fellow artists.

The reality is, making art is getting more expensive, and I know that for many of us, spending on handmade goods is feeling like more of a luxury. So, in order to keep creating without burning out or breaking the bank, I made a big decision: I’ve taken on a full-time job.

This was not an easy choice, and I know it may feel bittersweet—especially to those of you who have been following my work for a long time. But here’s the good news: I’m not going anywhere. I’ll always be making. Creating is who I am.

That said, you may notice a smaller batch of work from me and fewer markets on my calendar. I’ll still be around on socials, sharing process shots and studio peeks, and my website will stay stocked with the treasures I do have time to make.

If you’ve had your eye on something or just want to support me before my work gets a little more rare, come see me this weekend in Tipton, IA! I’d love to see your faces and share what I’ve been working on.

Thanks for riding this wave with me. It means more than you know. 💛

It’s been a minute since I’ve done a kiln unload — turns out winter is good for hibernating and making a LOT of pots.

Here’s a little sneak peek of what’s been cooking in the kiln! I’ve been busy getting ready for market season, and it all kicks off this Saturday at the Des Moines' Downtown Farmers' Market from 7–12. Come say hi, touch some pots, and maybe take one home!

Sharing a little magic in the making! This sgraffito piece feels like it’s straight out of a novel 😉 Can’t wait to show you the final transformation, but for now, here’s a glimpse of the adventure!

Kiln unload day with my little crew! Some hits, some misses (looking at you, brown stoneware mugs… why you gotta be like that?), but hey, the good stuff totally makes up for it. Nothing like the thrill of seeing what actually survived the fire!

Today, I’m throwing mugs and getting ready for all the exciting holiday markets coming up! 🎄✨ It’s been such a busy season in the studio, and I’m so excited to finally share everything I’ve been working on with you all in person. From festive mugs to unique pieces, each one is made with so much love and care, and I can’t wait for you to see them up close! There’s nothing like the energy and excitement of a market during the holiday season, and I’m looking forward to connecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones. Hope to see you soon and share some holiday cheer! 🎁

The first of my 2024 Holiday mugs came out of the kiln today, and I’m officially obsessed! 🤩✨ There’s something so magical about the way each piece comes together, and this one is no exception. From the vibrant colors to the intricate details, I just can’t wait to share it with you all. I’ve poured so much love and care into designing these mugs, and I hope they bring as much joy to your holiday season as they brought to me while creating them. Stay tuned – more designs are on the way! 🎄❄️☕
