One piece foiled, 66 more to go… I start along the inside edge, take my time centering the foil, then press and burnish it into place. How do you hold your foil while you work? Show me a picture! Grinding in almost real time… at 2x speed 😅 I like to make a light pass around all the pieces first, then go back and fine-tune any spots that need it. I’m aiming to keep the glass just inside the pattern lines so there’s room for the foil without changing the shape of the design.

Some new spooky-season favorites are in the shop 👻
These 3D-printed kitties have such a cool skeletal, openwork look, and the stained-glass kitty cat pumpkin and Death’s-head moth are bringing their own spooky-season charm. A little eerie, a little sweet, and right on time for Halloween.

Scoring and breaking glass is one of my favorite parts of stained glass… even when it makes me a little nervous. Long, skinny pieces and deep curves can both be challenging, and one of these curves needed a second try. Sometimes you just have to take a breath and try again… in stained glass and in life. What part of stained glass makes you anxious, if anything? 💙

Josh spent the weekend revamping my stained glass workspace, making room for my xTool P3 and a place for my one-on-one classes. He built a shelf above my work table so I can use the space better, cleared off my light table, and helped give my glass scraps a home.
Today is our 14th anniversary, and I’m especially thankful that we’re two creative people who get to do fun things like this together, share a space, and work together 💙
