Through the Master's Eyes –
An Elementary Art History Experience with Hands-On Creation
Through the Master's Eyes is an engaging and interactive art history class designed specifically for 3rd and 6th grade students. In this course, students will explore the world of famous artists and masterpieces while creating their own artwork inspired by each style. - Using watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media, students will learn to see art from the perspective of great masters while developing their own creativity. Each lesson introduces a well-known artist, explores their unique style, and guides students through a hands-on project that reflects what they’ve learned. - This class blends storytelling, creativity, and technique, making art history come alive in a fun and meaningful way.
Sculpted Canvas -
Participants will learn how to build dimension on canvas using modeling materials, palette knives,
and creative layering methods.
This course encourages creativity and self-expression while teaching foundational techniques in texture, composition, and finishing.
Junque Journal: Vintage Art -
In this hands-on, creative workshop, Students will design and create their own Junque Journal: a unique, mixed-media journal made from repurposed, found, and meaningful materials. - This class blends creativity with reflection, through guided instruction, students will explore layering, texture, storytelling, and expressive art techniques while creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake journal.
Gel Art Printing: Creative Mono printing –
Gel Printing lets students explore layered prints and gilded book projects, combining hands-on creativity with fun, guided techniques. Perfect for any student curious about art, this class encourages experimentation, personal expression, and the joy of seeing ideas come to life. No prior experience needed.
Art Appreciation and Impact –
Art history and the development of the art culture. Changing the culture for future biblical interpretation of art. Asking the question, how can we be a light in this community with our art?
When the class and assigned homework is completed in this 1-semester course a homeschooled student may be awarded 1/2 high school credit in Fine Arts by their parent.
