We're a family owned and operated roller skating rink serving third and fourth generation families in Rocky Mount, NC. Vernon and Pauline Holder built and opened Sky-Vue Skateland to huge crowds and great fan fair in September 1958. It was their dream project to provide the citizens of Rocky Mount and the surrounding communities with wholesome, family fun. The tradition continues today as their ch

ildren and second generation owners, David Holder and Denise Watkins, carry the torch for the local icon. The rink features an original hardwood skating surface, fleet of rental skates, audio sound and light show, concessions, redemption games, retail novelty, and pro shop sales. Sky-Vue Skateland specializes in public skating, birthday party celebrations, school events, community events, group and organization outings, fundraisers, and all new innovative STEM education field trip for schools and youth organizations. We have over 30 years experience in teaching beginners how to roller skate. Roller skating is a life long activity providing health benefits for all ages. Come skate with us today! Please note we will be closed for 2 weekends to allow our staff to have time off for vacations. We will be closed for skating from June 26 through July 4.
We will reopen on Thursday afternoon, July 9 at 1 pm. Our July weekend 10/11 will be a 2 for1 weekend.

The Backstory of Dina and James Ray Lancaster. They met at Sky-Vue and married. Friday evening, June 12, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Their celebration started Friday afternoon with their family and friends at the rink. We love their story. Happy Anniversary friends. Wishing your many more years of happiness to come.
