Short Girl Productions, formed in April, 2013 specializes in entertainment, self-help, sports and sports related programming, program representation and fundraising consultation. For 33 years Harriet Unger, Short Girl's owner, was employed by Connecticut Public Television. ational Champions. While at CPTV, she produced numerous nationally distributed public television fundraising specials including, Matthew Morrison, Where It All Began, Celia Cruz and Friends: A Night of Salsa; Bobby Vinton Live: Songs From My Heart; The British Invasion Returns; Hey La Hey La: The Girl Groups are Back!; Picture This Weight Loss with Dr. Howard Shapiro; Daniel Pink: Living on the Right Side of the Brain, 2 specials each with skin care physician Dr. Adrienne Denese and financial guru Jonathan Pond, Money Matters with Susan McCarthy, Staying Motivated On The Deck of The Titanic and served as the Coordinating Producer for Patti LaBelle: One Night Only. She also produced numerous national pledge events for PBS and APT among them one with Michael Bolton at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She also produced one of the first live PBS national pledge events with Barney and Friends. As EP she oversaw national productions including Chronic Pain Relief with Dr. James Dillard; Dare to Repair; Happiness 101 with Tal Ben-Shahar, Ballroom Dancing Basics and RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles. She represented the Blue Man Group and RAIN national tours to public television stations. Since forming Short Girl Productions, she has represented Cherish The Ladies and has produced and represented The Hit Men: Live From Mohegan Sun, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers and The Australian Bee Gees Show taped in Tucson. As the Executive Producer for UConn Women’s Basketball, the most successful local initiative in the history of public television, Ms. Unger was responsible for all elements of production, fundraising and served as the liaison between the University of Connecticut and Connecticut Public Television. She produced the WNBA's Connecticut Sun games for CPTV Sports and for the ABC affiliate in Connecticut, and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame’s Tip-Off Classic and Women’s Challenge games played at Mohegan Sun. Unger has directed numerous local productions including weekly discussion programming, satellite media tours, and political debates for CPTV. She is currently directing Beyond The Beat for CPTV Sports. For the last 23 years, she has been employed as the director of The Connecticut Forum at Hartford’s historic Bushnell Theater. She served as the primary producer and later the director of CPTV’s annual on-air fundraising campaigns. She produced the annual CPTV Auction for over twenty years. Ms Unger has been widely recognized for her work, receiving a PBS Membership On-Air Achievement award, winning an Emmy in the Outstanding Entertainment Special category as producer of The News in R***e, a nationally distributed comedy special. She has received several regional Emmy nominations and was awarded an Associated Press Award for producing UConn Women’s Basketball.
