What a wonderful morning Sunday was for the very first It Takes a Village 5K at Billie Creek.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible — our incredible sponsors, event coordinators, volunteers, supporters, and especially our 33 participants who zig-zagged their way through Billie Creek on what was certainly a creatively expressive course!
From covered bridges and village pathways to gravel, grass, and a little mud, you embraced every twist and turn with enthusiasm and good spirits. Congratulations to every single participant. You helped launch a brand new Billie Creek tradition, and we could not be more grateful.
Thank you as well to Parke Vermilion Humane Society for joining us and helping make the morning even more special.
This was Billie Creek’s first-ever 5K, and like any first event, we learned so much along the way. We are incredibly thankful for everyone’s patience, encouragement, and excitement as we brought this idea to life.
