The Dance all began in 1997 in the one bedroom apartment of Ms.Tjuana Evans; who started working with the young ladies in her Rockville Centre N.Y. With no formal dance training,but with a passion for dance Ms. Tjuana would make up dance routines and have the girls perform at different neighborhood functions. When the apartment became too small to hold rehearsal, the children along with Ms. Tjuana

would dance in "The Cut" in between the apartment buildings. (Not always the safest place to be.) Finally in 2007 we finally had a place to call home. A dance studio was built for us in our local Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Rockville Ctr. N.Y..What started out as a "Dance Club" has now evolved into "Dance Empress Studios". Home of The SugarBabies Dance Crew(ages 8-13), and The EyeDollz Elite(16-20). Our dance styles range from: Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Praise Dance, Street Ballet and Ms. Tjuana's very own creation " Interpretive Street Jazz" a fusion of, modern, jazz, hip-hop and "Ailey" inspired movements .. Here at Dance Empress Studios we always say.."I CAN'T" is not a word..
