Happy first Friday of the new school year!!! This is my second year as a Pre-K teacher and I’m loving every second of it. Last year I was Preschool (Pre-K 3) then Pre-K (4), but I’ll still count it as my second year 🤪😜🤭.
In the excitement of the new school year ahead, I wanted to share the beginning of what I have set up in my classroom this year! My co-teacher and I chose a blue theme to go with our classroom name of the Sharks. Of course I had to get extra and made my own designs, so I just had to share them.
Going into a new school year, I always think about the best way I can be a teacher and help my kiddos learn a thing or two. As a teacher, we are already named as babysitters or whatever you can think of and as an early education teacher, that view is amplified even more. Many people do not realize that we are soooo much more than that! I’ve learned so much being a pre-k teacher. From having patience with different learners to creating learning styles that best fits that learner. While I do have hopes for being an elementary teacher, that concept carries on throughout a child’s learning career.
I’ve put a lot of time and effort creating an environment when children can grow, learn and succeed—which is what a lot of teachers go through as well. Having an aesthetically pleasing classroom is not the only thing to worry about but it also contributes to learning opportunities! From posting sight words and having everyday language and encouragement that children have access to, supports a safe place for learning to happen. (Not to mention I love seeing my satisfying classroom haha)
Take it easy on your teachers this year (and every year). We are people too and we deserve recognition for what we do! Shout out to all my teachers!!!
Happy new school year everyone!! Let’s make the best of it!
