A roof that opens to the sky. A stage that opens hearts.

Do you have any pictures of the Starlight grounds/building that you’d like to share? We’d love to feature them in our Starlight Saturday posts! If so, go ahead and leave them in the comments for us to use in the future; our community sees us the best!

Some of life's sweetest moments come from the little things.

A kind word, a helping hand, a familiar face, or simply making someone feel like they belong. Sometimes, the smallest gestures leave the biggest impressions.

At Starlight, we know a little kindness can go a long way. From the friendships formed backstage to the memories made under the stars, it's the people and the love we share for this place that make it all so special.

This Sweetest Day, we hope you'll take a moment to share a little kindness, spread a little joy, and remind someone just how much they mean to you.

Happy Sweetest Day!

This week’s Spooky Starlight takes us back to 2012 and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

A barber with a grudge, a baker with a business plan, and meat pies you might want to skip... This one is about as macabre as musical theatre gets.

And we’re not done with it yet. Sweeney Todd returns to the Starlight stage for our 61st season in 2027!

Were you there in 2012? Tell us your favorite memory in the comments

Happy Boss’s Day to our incredible Artistic Director, Chris Brady!

For years, Chris has been a part of the Starlight family, both onstage and behind the scenes, pouring his heart, creativity, and countless hours into making Starlight what it is today.

His dedication goes far beyond putting on a great show. Chris is always looking for ways to make Starlight better, bring people together, and foster a community where everyone feels like they belong.

Starlight simply would not be what it is today without his leadership, passion, and unwavering love for this theatre. We are endlessly grateful for all the hard work he puts in, especially the work that happens when no one is watching.

Happy Boss’s Day, Chris! Thank you for everything you do for our Starlight family.

Two incredible shows open and close this weekend — don’t miss your chance to see them:

Belvidere North High School presents Clue High School Edition
It’s a dark and stormy night, and our cast of oddball characters has been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well, dead. So whodunit? Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.

Main Street Players presents Holy Mother of Bingo!
An innocent bingo fundraiser at the Our Mother of Mercy church goes awry when parishioners mysteriously drop dead! Who is to blame? Who could be behind the elaborate spree? Everyone’s a suspect...

Let us know if we missed anything!

This week’s Spooky Starlight drifts back to 2011 and our production of The Phantom of the Opera.

Fog rolling across the stage, a mysterious masked figure, and a boat ride you might not come back from... Fifteen years later, this moment still gives us chills.

Were you in the audience for this one? Or better yet, were you on stage? Tell us in the comments

Who would you bring to their very first Starlight show, and what show would you pick for them? Any show, not just our 2027 season.

Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day and honor the histories, cultures, contributions, and enduring resilience of Indigenous peoples. It is a time to celebrate Indigenous voices and stories, reflect on the past, and recognize the importance of preserving traditions and building a future rooted in respect and understanding. At Starlight, we believe stories have the power to connect us, deepen our understanding, and bring our community together. Today, we honor the Indigenous voices and experiences that continue to shape our shared world.
