Would be kinda chic…. “CORRIDO”
Not only are we exploring the history and context behind many popular corridos, but we are also showcasing talent across various generations and styles. Something like this has never been attempted before; it’s the first of its kind to celebrate the culture and music in this fashion. The best part is that it’s 100% free for the community. Join City of Rockford Poet Laureate Adam al-Sirgany for a conversation with author Brian Trapp about his acclaimed debut novel, Range of Motion.
Tuesday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Rockford Public Library’s Nordlof Center
Thoughtful, unconventional, and often funny, Range of Motion explores the lifelong bond between twin brothers—one of whom has cerebral palsy—and the beautiful complexity of disability, caregiving, and family.
Trapp is the Director of Disability Studies at the University of Oregon and Editor-in-Chief of Northwest Review. His novel has been praised by Kirkus Reviews as a “resonant and indelible family saga.”
This conversation will be especially meaningful for readers of literary fiction, disabled people, caregivers, siblings, and families seeking stories that authentically reflect their experiences.
