Hello friends,

Over the past 6 years we have gone through many changes, shared many stories, and made countless memories. Our ultimate goal has always been to deliver thought provoking and underrepresented theater to the Rockford Area. After much discussion, [usual] Suspects has made the difficult decision to dissolve the company. While our work feels somewhat incomplete, we are immensely proud of all the artists who offered up their time and talents to 4 seasons - including 14 mainstage shows, cabarets, readings, fundraisers, and virtual events. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to do so.

If you purchased tickets to Into the Woods and would like a refund, please reach out to [email protected] by June 11, 2021. After the expenses that come with closing our books, all remaining funds and assets will be donated to local theater companies and other not-for-profit charities.

To all our supporters over the years- from the deepest part of our hearts we thank you. And to the Rockford theater community, thank you for proving there is a place for every person. We were who we were, because you are who you are.

Instead of a Virtually Romeo & Juliet update this week, we want to give a gigantic THANK YOU to the wonderful donors who have contributed to [u]S over the last couple weeks!

With filming beginning this month, we figured now was a good time to answer a few questions about our short film, Virtually Romeo & Juliet!

Q: How will the film be accessible?
A: We plan on releasing the film on our Youtube channel, absolutely!

Q: When is the release date?
A: At this time we do not have a specific release date, but we are still anticipating Spring 2021.

Q: How can I support?
A: Donations can be made at Paypal.me/usualsuspectsllc. All donations will be going towards offsetting the costs of ensuring a safe and healthy filming process during the pandemic.

Hello, star-crossed lovers! A little update from [u]S:

We have been deep in pre-production for our short film, Virtually Romeo & Juliet, and we are excited to begin filming this month! This abridged version, set against a background of Rockford, is a comedy that we hope you all will enjoy!

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are working extra hard to make this experience a safe one for our cast and production team, and we need your help. Any donation you are able to make would alleviate some of the financial pressures that have come up as we create a safe and socially distanced filming environment. We are heartbroken to learn that our dear friend David Causey has passed away. David touched so many people’s lives, and his love and passion will live on through everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He will forever be remembered for his laugh and his compassion for others. David was always - and will always be - family. Rest peacefully, dearest friend.
