Reminder that our September donation pause starts tomorrow!! Thank you for your patience and understanding! 💕📦🫙

We’re taking a donation pause for the month of September (and a few days in October to get past ArtScene!) Thank you for your patience and understanding! 📦

Some rapid fire questions:

1. Why pause??? We’ve just about run out of space to store our backlog of donations again! This pause gives us time to safely catch up on processing supplies, and also re-organize/adjust our sorting processes and space!

2. When can I donate again?? Donations will start back up October 6th!

3. What if I can’t wait? If you have an urgent deadline to move supplies, you can try at the other awesome creative reuse centers in Illinois/Wisconsin! Or your local general thrift shop! Or FB marketplace/groups are an option too! We’re happy to help point you to some potential spots!

4. Can I please help you sort?? Yes, soon! 😊 We’re planning our first ever sorting session! Coming sooooon!

5. How else can we help? Keep showing up and keep shopping secondhand supplies first! And tell your friends! 🥰 We’ll be putting out tons of supplies all month! And stay tuned for another Fill-a-Bag sale 👀

Fall ArtScene 2026 is almost upon us! 😱 We’re looking for a few more artists to fill out our lineup here at The Scrap Jar! 🫙

Spots are limited! Applications are due by midnight SEPT 3RD! (Artists will be notified of decision by 9/4)

We’re ideally looking to feature local artists whose work uses reused/eco-friendly materials and/or has an interactive feature! (But neither are a requirement!) ❤️

We’re one week away from our Faux Cake Box Decorating Class! 🥳 Learn to decorate your own fake cake, and then also eat REAL cake with us!

A huge thank you to everyone who came and celebrated Rockford 815 Day with us!! ❤️ (And thank you to my mom and sibling for holding down the fort while I was at a wedding!)

And wowow I’m so glad you loved these Rockford mini prints!! 🥹 If you didn’t get a chance to get them on Saturday, they’ll still be here through 8/31! And if you’re out of town and would like to buy a set, I’d be happy to mail it to you!

I think Rockford’s got a lot of amazing things going for it, and while it’s not perfect (what city is?), I’m glad we have a day to celebrate the awesome things that make this city a great place!
