HONORABLE MENTION, A*O CONCERTO COMPETITION 2021-2022
👉 Meet our soloists!! 😍

John White is a sophomore student at Augustana College with a major in Entertainment and Media. He began playing the viola at the age of 8 and have continued playing ever since, currently participating in both the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Before arriving to Augustana College he had studied under the Suzuki program at Wheaton College. John has played in numerous orchestras such as ILMEA and have always enjoyed performing music for an audience. John is currently working under the guidance of Dr. Deborah Dakin and will continue doing so for his
remaining two years at Augustana College.

WINNERS A*O CONCERTO COMPETITION 2021-2022
👉 Meet our soloists!! 😍

Bree Turner is a junior from Moline, IL who is currently triple majoring in biology, psychology, and public health. In addition to her scientific passions, she is also described as a “committed non-major” within the music department. While not majoring in music, she is actively involved by being the baritone saxophone player in the Augustana Symphonic Band as well as a participant in a saxophone quartet ensemble. Her most recent accomplishment was being one of the winners for the 2021-2022 Augustana Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. After her expected graduation in 2023, she hopes to gain a masters in physician assistant studies in order to become a strong health provider within the community.

WINNERS A*O CONCERTO COMPETITION 2021-2022
😍 Meet our soloists!!

John Flannery is a sophomore at Augustana with a double major in piano performance and music composition.
Along with the Augustana Concerto Competition, John has participated in a great many competitions throughout high school. Most notably, John was the winner of the Marilyn Minford McCoid Young Artist Competition and was given the opportunity to perform the first movement of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra.
John is absolutely delighted to have been able to work with the Augustana Orchestra!
