This week the Backwater Gamblers mourn the loss of two long time friends.
In Loving Memory of Richard "Pinky" Thompson
Pinky, one of our biggest supporters and fans for the past 40+ years. All three of Pinky's children, Susan, Teresa, and Randy, have been a huge part of our team over the last 45 years as skiers, boat riders, and leaders. His daughter in-laws and son in-laws and all of his grandchildren have been members as skiers or supporters for many years.
We'll miss seeing Pinky sitting in the stands at our ski shows in his overalls, and his loving and cheerful presence. Thanks for everything, Pinky, and especially sharing your entire family with us.
In Loving Memory of Tim Place
Tim is one of our treasured past members. Tim gave 26 years of dedication to this club — from 1994 to 2019.
Whether he was behind the wheel as one of our dedicated boat drivers or thrilling everyone with his favorite act to drive, barefoot circles, Tim brought heart to everything he did on the water.
We were lucky to have him. Miss you always, Tim.
