It was such a gift to sing at St. Staffanskyrkan in Gävle, Sweden! We collaborated with the Valbo Vocal Ensemble and the Tonverket Youth Choir conducted by the lovely Ellen Weiss. We had the pleasure of meeting Ellen on Augustana’s campus during the spring semester. Thank you to the church, choirs, and Ellen for being amazing hosts. They even set up a traditional Swedish childhood game where we got to go “fishing!” We had so much fun. We performed our second concert at Rättvik Church last night in Rättvik, Sweden. Rattvik is a small charming lakeside town on Lake Siljan. We stayed in a retreat center close to the town and had the opportunity to enjoy the nature through canoeing, swimming, volleyball and more. Thank you to our lovely hosts for sharing this amazing space with us. We are grateful for another concert with a fabulous audience. The Augustana Choir just completed our first concert of the Scandinavia tour at the Margaretakyrkan in Oslo, Norway. Thank you so much to the church for hosting us and thank you to everyone who attended. It was so exciting to sing our music for the first time internationally!

We had an amazing time at our Alumni Celebration Concert a few weeks ago!! It was such a pleasure to connect with so many alumni and to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Hurty and Sonja Hurty as they prepare for retirement. We are so grateful to everyone who participated in and watched the concert. Stay tuned as we take off for our tour Scandinavia soon!

It was such a pleasure to have Ellen Weiss rehearse with us these past two weeks. Ellen is a church musician, choir conductor, and singer from Gävle, Sweden. We were lucky to receive her insights on Scandinavian culture and music. Throughout her time here she led us in warmups, worked on our Swedish diction, and taught us some Swedish words! We even got the chance to meet some of her singers online during rehearsal.
