THE MAINSTAY PLAYERS ARE BACK!
TRIVIA TIME! What legendary television show began in Philadelphia in 1952, introduced millions of American teenagers to the latest music and dance crazes, and helped launch the careers of some of the biggest names in rock and roll?
If you answered American Bandstand, congratulations! You probably remember rushing home from school, turning on the television and watching Dick Clark introduce the music that would become the soundtrack of our lives!

And here's a bonus question. Did you know that American Bandstand first went national in August 1957, broadcasting from Philadelphia to television sets across the country? For generations, it was THE place to discover new music, new dances and the latest teenage fashions. HISTORY TV Nederland
Well, we're bringing some of that magic back to Rock Hall!
On Friday, November 13, The Mainstay Players return for their FIFTH major musical production, and this time we're turning back the clock for a rollicking celebration of American Bandstand!
Remember The Twist? How about Happy Together, These Boots Are Made for Walkin', Do You Believe in Magic and Rock Around the Clock? Just a few of the familiar favorites that will take us on a musical journey through four unforgettable decades, from the fabulous fifties to the outrageous eighties!
And who better to guide us through this musical time machine than WCTR Radio personalities Brian Moore and Leslie Sea? They'll be joining the Players as our hosts for an evening filled with great music, laughter, memories and maybe a few surprises!
If you've attended any of our previous Mainstay Players productions celebrating the Beatles, Laurel Canyon, New York City or the Grand Ole Opry, you already know what a terrific group of musicians we have right here in our community. And if you haven't, this is the perfect opportunity to find out!
Here's something else that makes these concerts particularly special. Every one of our Mainstay Players volunteers their time and talent, with proceeds helping support The Mainstay and our mission of keeping outstanding live music alive in Rock Hall.
