Tune in to Live in the D on Monday! 📺💙Shelly Propson-Lennon, our Executive Director, and Renee Cortright, Executive Director of OPC Social & Activity Center, will be on WDIV Local 4 / ClickOnDetroit to talk about their partnership and the upcoming Memory Café in Rochester.

Their segment airs within the 11 a.m. hour. Tune in to hear why creating these spaces matters for families navigating dementia, how art fosters connection, and what makes the Memory Café different from a traditional support group.

Join us for a reception celebrating our artists at the Rochester Hills Public Library! 🎨💙

Our exhibit, "Nature's Impressions: The Stylized Landscape," is on display on the second floor, and we would love for you to see it in person. The exhibit invites viewers to step outside traditional realism and enter a world of interpreted environments. Through vivid color fields, altered perspectives, and rhythmic patterns, each piece offers a distinct, emotional impression of the Earth's vistas.

WHEN: Thursday, November 5 | 5 – 6 p.m.

WHERE: Rochester Hills Public Library, second floor

We will also have a small pop up of notecards for sale featuring work by the artists in this exhibit. Stop by to support our artists and take home a piece of their work.

We are so proud of our artist Zelora Farmer! 🎨💙 Tomorrow, Zelora takes the stage at TEDxAuburn Hills to share a talk about art as a powerful means of communication, self-expression, connection, and inclusion.

Zelora is an artist, direct care worker, and longtime advocate for people with disabilities. She has worked closely with autistic individuals and others with disabilities, both professionally and through supporting loved ones in her own life. Her talk centers on a simple, powerful idea: society was not built with disabled people in mind, but art was.

We are also thrilled that our Executive Director, Shelly Propson Lennon, will be speaking at the event. Congratulations, Zelora and Shelly. We cannot wait to cheer you on!

We asked for your stories, and you delivered. 🎨💙

Court Cyrkiel is a longtime artist here at Paint a Miracle, and an award-winning one. His painting "Which Came First," featuring a rooster, won the Juror's Choice Award at the ACTion Art Exhibition, which earned him entry into ArtPrize in Grand Rapids in 2018. But when we asked our community to share what our art means in their homes, his mom Angie gave us a look at something we do not always get to see.

His work has found a home in nearly every room of the family's home. Angie says he loves to paint animals of all kinds, especially fish, and that he is an avid fisherman. The family keeps a gallery wall of his art in the family room, which Angie says "makes a beautiful statement of who Court is." Her favorite piece is the Butterfly, the first watercolor he ever painted, which she says seemed to fly off the page. His dad's favorite is the Koala pastel painting.

Join the CLUB! 🎨💙 We recently kicked off this month's Club Create at our studio in partnership with the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority (RARA) Adaptive Program. It was a wonderful morning of creativity, connection, and artistic growth.

Club Create is designed to nurture the artistic skills and creative expression of young artists and young adults. It offers a supportive environment where artists connect, grow their skills, and bring their visions to life alongside a vibrant community of fellow creators.
