These streamers. They have come to signify so much for us. In many ways, they have become our identity. Both paper and felt were made by hand by one of us, lovingly cared for and safely stored year after year. They have been used at every one of our shows. It never officially started until they were hung, and was never officially over until they were taken down. Taking them down for the last time was a bittersweet moment. When we started this show ten years ago, we did it for ourselves and the like-minded people that we just knew were out there. We truly had no idea how much of an institution we'd eventually become. It was never about making money; rather it was about creating a community of artists + crafters. It was about creating connection to each other and to this city. We watched this community here in Rochester grow, and as we think back we are so overwhelmed with gratitude for all of you for eagerly helping us achieve that goal. For every note of thanks we've received from an artist; for every shopper who told us how much they love our show; for every kind word you guys have ever spoken to and about us. You are all a large part of what makes Second Storie stand apart from the rest. We say goodbye with misty eyes, but full hearts. Thank you Rochester, for letting us be such a beloved part of your landscape these last ten years.
