James Haskins, Geva’s Executive Director, attended last week’s “2026 Latino Giving Circle Grants Celebration” at the Ibero Community Resource Center, where it was announced that Geva is the recipient of a grant supporting our upcoming production of Laughs in Spanish by Alexis Scheer.

The Grants Celebration brought together Latino Giving Circle members, donors, community leaders, and grantee partners to celebrate this year’s investments and the collective impact everyone is making together.

All of us at Geva are excited and proud to be recognized in this way and look forward to sharing Scheer’s fast-paced comedy about art and success with you all on our Fielding Stage April 28 - June 6, 2027.

Jeffrey’s history with Geva includes directing and choreographing the New York Times Critic’s Pick production of Ain’t Misbehavin’ in 2023 and directing Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill in 2024. Christin Eve Cato’s work with Geva includes serving as Dramaturg for 2023’s Somewhere and writing last season’s powerful and deeply human Sancocho.
