ARTISANworks is a self-funded nonprofit art space that exists without government aid. We rely on the generous support from both personal and corporate members, donations of artwork, memorabilia and collectibles, and venue rental for amazing full-service personal or corporate events. Consider hosting an event with ARTISANworks, becoming a Member, signing up for our Art Lease-to-Own program, or donating items from an estate.

The Main Showroom is where ARTISANworks makes its first impression—and it’s one heck of an introduction.

Before you wander through 40,000 square feet of automobiles, photography, art, collectibles, and memorabilia, this is the room that welcomes you in. Massive paintings, hanging sculptures, larger-than-life artwork, and pieces from dozens of artists share the same space, creating a room that’s impossible to take in all at once.

It’s also one of the original event spaces at ARTISANworks, designed as a tribute to the American worker and still used today for weddings, parties, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, and special events.

The Main Showroom is included with general admission during public hours Friday–Sunday from 12:00–5:00 p.m., and it’s just the beginning of what you’ll find inside ARTISANworks. 🎨✨

On one side of ARTISANworks: book rebinding 📚 On the other: afternoon tea 🫖

Sunday offered two very different opportunities to learn something new, with guests creating custom hardcover books during a book rebinding workshop while another group gathered for an afternoon tea experience filled with conversation, history, and plenty of tea.

One of the things that makes ARTISANworks special is that no two visits look exactly the same. Between workshops, classes, live events, gallery tours, and special programs, there is always something new happening throughout the building.

What’s the best way to kick-off the summer? A cold glass of rosé please!

Join us in tasting a variety of rosés from around-the-world with Dr Bruce Smoller, instructor and sommelier. This class offers a bit of education in flavor profiles, winemaking techniques, and the beautiful regions these grapes stemmed from. Start your summer off right with learning a thing or two about the wine you bring to the next family cookout, get together with friends, or a cozy date night in.

Saturday, June 27th from 7:00-8:30pm

The Tap Room feels like the kind of place that should have its own regulars.

Beer signs, sports memorabilia, vintage advertising, oversized bottle displays, collectible mugs, pool tables, framed jerseys, and enough Rochester history to keep people pointing things out to each other all afternoon.

The Tap Room is one of the many themed spaces inside ARTISANworks and is open to the public during gallery hours every Friday–Sunday from 12–5 p.m.
It can also be rented for private events, small gatherings, business meetings, breakout sessions, and celebrations. The space offers private access, flexible room configurations, and can even be paired with neighboring gallery spaces for additional guest capacity.

One visit is enough to understand why people keep finding new favorite rooms inside ARTISANworks. CHEERS 🍻

The closer you look in the Bourbon Street event space, the more you realize it’s the little details that make this room so memorable.

Hand-painted storefronts. Carved wooden doors. Stained glass windows. A neighborhood florist, a newsstand, an optical shop, a manor house—each one built to make the room feel like you’re wandering through New Orleans instead of a traditional event venue.

Bourbon Street can accommodate up to 350 guests and features a large stage for ceremonies, presentations, or live entertainment, customizable seating for banquet or theater layouts, and ambient lighting that transforms the room from day to night. It’s a favorite for weddings, galas, corporate events, proms, mitzvahs, fundraisers, and celebrations that call for a space with a little more personality.

Because at ARTISANworks, the grand scale is impressive—but it’s the details that keep people looking around all night 👀

New York is home to more than 450 species of native bees, many of them solitary pollinators that nest in small spaces and play a major role in keeping gardens, flowers, and food crops thriving.

On Thursday, June 18th, Flower City Beeworks is bringing a hands-on workshop to ARTISANworks where participants will build their own native bee hotel using recycled materials. Each finished bee home is designed to be installed in your yard or garden, creating habitat for local pollinators while giving you a chance to observe these fascinating insects up close.

Founded right here in Rochester, Flower City Beeworks focuses on rooftop urban beekeeping, pollinator education, and community outreach. Their work helps connect people with the important role bees play in our ecosystem while making conservation approachable and accessible.

Yesterday morning, ARTISANworks experienced a fire on the exterior of the building.

We are incredibly grateful to the Rochester Fire Department whose rapid response prevented the situation from becoming far more serious. Thanks to their quick action and professionalism, the fire was contained and no one was injured.

At this time, it appears the fire may have been caused by a cigarette butt that had been placed in a planter and continued smoldering overnight before igniting the exterior of the building. We hope this serves as an important reminder to fully extinguish smoking materials and dispose of them properly.

Our staff spent the day cleaning up and assessing the affected area, and we are thankful for the outpouring of support from the community.

We are happy to report that ARTISANworks remains open, and all tours, events, weddings, and scheduled programs will continue as planned.

A heartfelt thank you to the Rochester Fire Department for protecting this special place. We look forward to welcoming visitors this weekend.
