Rhys Van Ert (Director)

Rhys Van Ert is a performer/director based in Rochester, MN & La Crosse, WI. He is the Founder & Executive Director of Spark Theatre Company. Rhys is attending Viterbo University in La Crosse pursuing a BBA in Business Administration, and has performed in both Minnesota & Wisconsin. Aside from Admnistrative duties, Rhys also directs the Summer Camp productions & Holiday Cabarets.

⭐️ Meet the Production Team! ⭐️

Adam Moxness (Music Director)

Adam Moxness is an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. He received his MFA in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory where he began his research in designing a student-led, accessibility based, and neurodiversity-affirming vocal pedagogy. Adam is passionate about providing accessible and inclusive voice training to diverse populations. He is continuing to develop a resource for voice teachers called Universal Design for Voice Teaching (UDVT) and hopes to one day make voice education accessible for all.

His UDVT research has been nationally recognized through Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee (Faculty Development Course), Musical Theatre Educators’ Alliance (Conference Presentation), Pan American Vocology Association (Conference Presentation), Voice Study Centre (Online Short Course), College Autism Network (Poster), National Association of Teachers of Singing (Poster/Conference Presentation), and more.

Jayna Hartzell (Choreographer)

Jayna Hartzell is currently pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre with a Dance concentration and a minor in Entrepreneurship at Roosevelt University, Chicago College of Performing Arts. This summer she choreographed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat at Summerset theater, and she has worked as a camp assistant and stage manager at the Rochester Civic Theater. Jayna is so excited to be returning as the choreographer at Spark Theater for Dear Evan Hansen!
