NEW FROM MELANIE.
Its amazing to us that the show curtain for the show featured a single rose .
This was never discussed in our writing of the show.
If there ever was a production that was just meant to be in a time and place ..... Melanie and the Record Man ... was it.
So there’s a dark cloud and I think it’s because I haven’t addressed something that is weighing heavy on me, since New Year’s.We will see...
This would have been the year that I received 50 red roses from Peter.
One red for each year we were married.This was Peter’s symbol system. One red rose for each year and one yellow one for each of our children and then sunflowers or daisies I think for grand children or our first hit record?
This all made for a very discombobulated flower arrangement.
I mean the daisies didn’t really go with the roses and those three awkward yellow ones, it was almost like the florist ran out of red roses. But Peter was not a flower arranger. He didn’t have flower design in him, he was a symbolist. Which reminds me of a Joe Walsh story, the punchline being something like
” If I wanted
Cymbals I would’ve hired a
Cymbalist. ”
Drum roll ha ha!
In my mind’s eye I am seeing the roses today ....50 red, 3 yellow ,3 daisies and a sunflower...I still can’t make that look good : )
So, my dear ones thank you for indulging me.Don’t know if this will help or not.
