Music, Theater, Dance and More

It began with a simple text to his daughter, “Hey I bought you a new organ.” “That’s great” she replied, “But where are we going to put it?” Tom’s answer, “In the church it came with!” With that purchase the 50 yr old Piano and Vocal lesson business Bruce Legacy Studios, now Bruce Music & Theatre Academy, has a new home.

Soon afterwords, a local charitable youth band that Tom helps mentor was looking for a new practice space. Space is something 75 Stutson St. has with 2 stages, so the All In Brass Band now calls it home every Saturday morning, going as far as nicknaming it the Church of Hype. Then a theater group was in need of a rehearsal/performance space on short notice, once again Tom to the rescue, the show was able to go on. In fact, they liked the space so much MT Ed is now based out of 75 Stutson St.

Clearly the Rochester arts community was in need of a new venue, and Tom Bruce’s vision and generosity is opening up the hearts and minds of countless children and adults in historic Charlotte NY. Every day something at the old church is updated, a new show is rehearsed, a band practices their craft, a child learns to play the piano.

The future holds unlimited possibilities of entertainment and knowledge. 75 Stutson St. is unique, not to be constrained by labels, and is ever evolving. Stop in and say “Hi”, have a coffee, take a tour, book your band, book an event, were open to all ideas. Our website has upcoming performances and informational links.
