Paley Studios Albert Paley has been active as an artist for over 40 years at his studio in Rochester, New York.

Commissioned by both public institutions and private corporations, Paley has completed more than 50 large-scale site-specific sculptures. Works by Albert Paley can be found in the permanent collections of many major museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He received honorary doctorates from the University of Rochester in 1989, the State University of New York at Brockport in 1996, St. Lawrence University, in Canton, New York in 1997, and the University of Gothenburg, in Sweden in 2012.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of former Paley Studios employee Tyler Guay.

For those of us who had the privilege of working with him, we know the world has lost someone truly special who contributed creative joy and goodwill to everything he did. He was a kind and generous soul, always ready with a helping hand or a supportive word.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Tyler. Leave go, and may your torch burn ever bright. You will be greatly missed.

Apollo, 1996 Formed and fabricated weathering steel and stainless steel 190x209x36 in
Made for the 1996 exhibition Art to Art at the Toledo Museum of Art, a response to the 1953 ceramic mural by Henri Matisse installed in the main entrance of the building.
The sculpture translates the two-dimensional graphic imagery of the mural into a three-dimensional, free-standing sculpture. The artist was attracted to the use of positive and negative imagery in the form development.
