**edit to add: Someone had concerns about the knife in my design. I am not advocating for violence. This harkens back to previous designs of mine as well as a popular cultural reference of birds with knives. This is meant to add levity to a time and situation that requires grit and also bits of humor sprinkled in for those who have a similar & sometimes dark sense of humor like I do. Take care friends.

Food is a human right.

When I was a young mother living below the poverty line, my family was able to have food security thanks to government programs that allowed us to be able to purchase groceries. At the time I felt shame every time I needed to use my EBT card or use my WIC checks because of rude and judgemental people. The weight of what those programs did for my family has never left my mind or heart. I am eternally grateful that my children had nutritious meals to help them grow and we never had to go to bed hungry.

The fact that there are many out there who do face the reality of going to bed hungry makes my heart hurt. Food is a human right.

My final market of the year will be the Winter Market at the historic Chateau Theater on Saturday, December 6th from 2-6 pm. 20 percent of my profits will be donated to my local food bank, Channel One and another portion of my profits will be donated to Feeding America.

Please give to your local food banks if you are able. Together we can help our neighbors. There should be no shame in seeking a basic human right.

This year, Indigenous Peoples’ Day is celebrated on October 13th. I’m sharing an updated version of a graphic I created a few years ago about the Indigenous Peoples in Minnesota. I hope you can take time to dig in deeper to the history of the land you currently reside on. I live in Minnesota which is the land of the Dakota and Anishinaabe. I acknowledge and lament the damaging impact of the history of colonization and modern day colonialism on Indigenous peoples around the world. I will continue to seek out best practices to add support and not harm today and every day. 💛

I had a fantastic time celebrating AAPI Heritage Month at the Asian Phoenix Festival yesterday! Huge shoutout to for putting together a great festival! I love seeing folks celebrating AAPI culture & heritage.

I finished this mural back in December for Family Promise Rochester. It is located in the game room for kids and teens in a newly renovated space. I love how the bright vibrant colors and important message really transformed the space. I believe we all need to be reminded that we belong. It is my hope that my art can make someone feel less alone in the world. 💛
