Groove Juice Swing, established in 2004, is based in Rochester, NY and specializes in Lindy Hop, the original swing dance from the 1920s and 1930s. We also periodically teach a variety of other dance styles, including Balboa, tap, solo jazz, and Charleston. We offer dance classes, weekly social dances, live band dance events, performances, and dance workshops throughout the year. Annual events inc
lude Stompology, a unique solo jazz workshop weekend; the Roaring 20s Party; and the Red Hot Holiday Ball, a free social dance and party dedicated to all of the newest swing dancers in the community, among a variety of other fun events that we create fresh for our community each year. Swing dancers can be spotted multiple times per week at our own venue, The Rose Room, in Rochester’s Southwedge neighborhood. Groove Juice Swing continuously offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced Lindy Hop and swing dance lessons on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Each month, we also offer other special topics classes in a variety of fun historic dance styles. Wednesday evening is Lindy Jam, the weekly DJed social dance hosted by Groove Juice Swing. Lindy Jam’s friendly atmosphere makes it the perfect venue to meet the scene and practice those dance moves learned in class. Once a month, Groove Juice Swing presents the Groove Juice Special, a social dance on a weekend evening preceded by a free introductory swing dance lesson. Multiple times per year, fantastic local or national jazz bands are booked for the event.
