My mission, my vision in 2011 was to create a FB platform to provide any and all East Coast Rave Flyers for any and all who needed to reminisce, look back, remember or for whatever else reason may be. For years I feel it full-filled its duty. Over some years, after seeing the likes and followings the page has received (thank you!) I noticed this page just may have made some kind of

impact? I decided to open the page to anyone on the East coast and surrounding areas to promote their Raves/Parties or even them selves in highlight of music and dance. 13 years later, after many many life changing experiences, and some years this page just, floated a long, collecting a like here, a like there, a follow here a follow there, I realized something. This page is here to stay and putting it back out there. Please, if you want to post an old school flyer, new school flyer, promote your event, promote yourself and or your crew/team or just share any nostalgic rave music/photos/videos...please do. Over the next year, i will be trying to improve my knowledge of how to work and use these FB pages, FB improved the navigating part but, still limited on a lot, especially on not being able to search a specific flyer out of 5000+ flyers. This page is still full of flyers, 5000+. Thanks to all for all the support, especially from the very beginning. And RIP to my father, who actually encouraged me to create this page, as he was proud, and honored to have had a son who met and started so many beautiful friendships, because of this culture. Chicago-born ghetto house pioneer, DJ, producer, and label head DJ Funk has died aged 54. RIP đŸ–€

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Chambers began a career in dance music during the late ‘80s, rising to fame with a string of releases on labels like Dance Mania and Pro-Jex.

Under the alias DJ Funk, Chambers pioneered the early sound of ghetto house following the rise of ghetto tech, working between Chicago, Detroit, and other areas of the Midwest.

His 1999 album ‘Booty House Anthems’ sold more than a million copies across the US, and was followed up with two additional releases, ‘Booty House Anthems 2’ in 2006, and ‘Booty House Anthems 3’ in 2013.

In 2006, after producing a remix for Justice, he founded his own label, Funk Records – a home for his own releases, mixtapes, singles, and compilations featuring the likes of DJ Deeon and Lil’ Louis.

DJ Funk also features in a 1998 documentary, ‘Modulations’, directed by Iara Lee, tracing the history of electronic music.

The news follows the recent launch of a fundraiser to help cover funeral costs for DJ Funk — real name Charles Chambers — after he was diagnosed with stage four cancer.

His family shared a crowdfunder last week, explaining that Chambers had been “bravely” battling cancer, but didn’t “have much longer left”.

The crowdfunded raised more than $30,000 towards funeral costs, which his family said would go toward giving him “the tribute he deserves”.

Close friend and collaborator has now confirmed the news in a video on Instagram, confirming it has come via DJ Funk's family.
