ic Hall opened in 1977 and has since hosted hundreds of iconic concerts throughout the past 40+ years with artists including George Clinton, David Byrne, Sublime, Marilyn Manson, and St. Originally from the Rochester area, both Riley and Andrew met in Philadelphia while attending college at University of The Arts. After graduation, the two were involved with several bands, studios, and venues around the country and quickly grew their experience in all facets of the music industry. In the fall of 2019, Andrew and Riley toured Europe where they played shows in 7 countries from London to Bratislava. Upon releasing a number of Albums and touring both domestically and internationally, Andrew and Riley returned to Rochester and were brought on to oversee all booking and talent buying at the multi-staged Water Street Music Hall. Due to the global pandemic, the two had to think outside the box in order to keep Rochester’s Premiere music venue alive through these unprecedented times. Using the skills they have acquired, the team built and acoustically treated a brand new recording studio in the heart of the music hall. Using both vintage and modern recording gear, combined with 25 years experience, the two owners/engineers set themselves apart from anything currently being offered in the area. Riley and Andrew look to build upon the The Studios at Water St. and its capabilities over time, and with it, advance Rochester’s music community.

A few years back Andrew, Pontera, Arjun, Joe, and I rented an Airbnb in Greenfield Center, NY. We set off with the intention to write and record as many songs as we could in one weekend. We basically just messed around for the first two days, telling stories, eating questionable vegetables, laughing, and playing music together. Although we didn't leave with a full project we left with something more important and much less tangible.

Working in the industry managing venues, representing Artists, and organizing events has been a dream come true and I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to do that for a living. However, I lost a little love for the act of playing along the way as a result. These gentleman, and this trip gifted that love back to me. Long story long, I don't know that I have ever been more proud of a piece of music. Not necessarily because of its melody, lyrics, or feel but because of the love, memories, and friendship that are embedded within the tune itself.

Spooky & The Truth's 2nd single "Greenfield" is available now on all streaming platforms, give it a listen! Special shouts out to Graham Wolfe who mixed and mastered everything we are working on and brought these tunes to life.

UMG is excited to announce that Spooky & The Truth have released the first single, “Carolines” off of their upcoming album, “Ghost Town”!

Ghost Town will be released Friday, May 3rd 2024 on all streaming platforms.

Further information will be provided regarding our album release show in the coming weeks, but for the time being, we hope you enjoy Carolines!

UMG is proud to represent a roster of some of the top talent on the East Coast. For our first artist spotlight, we’d like to welcome Adriana Davila as part of the Upstate Music Group family!

Adriana is a singer/songwriter, lyricist, and performer currently based in Rochester, NY. Her soulful sound has been influenced by artists such as Adele, Olivia Dean, and Destiny’s Child.

AD has previously performed at the Rochester International Jazz Festival and has been a featured singer with regional band Public Water Supply.

Today, Adriana continues to build her own musical identity and is currently writing/recording new music that will be released in the near future.

Throughout the years, Upstate Music Group has led with the intentions of creating a music culture that values inclusion, responsibility, and transparency. Having a hand in the management, booking, and promotion of hundreds of live events over the past 10 years has led UMG to create multiple organizational changes in 2024 and beyond.

UMG, led by Riley Fressie and Andrew Nittoli, will now be headquartered at Rochester’s Main Street Armory. Having been the General Manager, Production Manager, and Talent Buyers at Water Street Music Hall for the last 5 years, this venue will no longer serve as our HQ.

In addition to concert promotion, UMG has also signed multiple acts to manage and book including: Adriana Davila, Aaron Rizzo, The Sideways, and Public Water Supply.

UMG will also assist in booking concerts at Flour City Station in Rochester, NY.

As we work with the City of Rochester, specifically Malik Evans & Rochester Police Department, our goal is to again attain a valid entertainment license here at the Main Street Armory in hopes of reopening and reestablishing this venue as a staple within Rochester’s live music scene. We understand that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done but are confident in our city’s leadership and intend to showcase this at the many future events that will happen within our facility.

The UMG team understands that there will be many hurdles to overcome throughout this journey and believe that by giving our artists, community, and fans a voice; we can positively change the Upstate NY music scene. We look forward to seeing you at an event in the near future!
