We have most of the equipment and supplies out of the old space, just a few carloads remaining. As for all the heavy lifting, like kitchen equipment, bubble hockey, and t-shirt machine, I want to give BIG shout-outs to the following, who worked hard to help me empty out the space, and when all said and done, NO DAMAGE. I want to thank Danny Gahm, Zack and C**t Green, Andrew Schafer, and Jesse Thomson for their hard work over the past several days.

Good morning everyone. We continue to clean out the present space, but looking forward to getting up and running another day, hopefully sooner than later.

In the meantime, the last of the things to move include about $4,000 worth of wood when we assembled the axe throwing lanes. I'm not interested in taking it with me, so anyone that wants to buy it, I'll take $500 or best offer for all of it. Come take what is already loose and even pull off the walls if you want. I'll have pictures later, but I must surrender my keys no later than end of day Wednesday, so if interested, let me know (text me at 603-749-8817) and we can make a time to meet there.

Update. I have a final item for sale. It's a computer we bought for the STEAM Index. Bought it in Nov., never even opened the box. Paid $1,100 for it, willing to consider reasonable offers (please don't offer things like $500). Email me at [email protected] for computer details. If we open again, we can buy it again.

Update. As I clean out the space, I've been working with the landlord on an amicable exit. He is willing to lease the space, and even told me I can show it. If anyone is interested in leasing that space, either let me know, or you can reach the landlord, John, at [email protected]

Good morning everyone,

My latest general contractor and plumber have both abandoned me, so after 2 general contractors, 3 electricians, and 5 plumbers NOT helping to complete renovations, Generations is surrendering the space back to the landlord.

I have recently contracted with another General Contractor, one who was referred to me from a personal friend, and he has a team of people, including an electrician and plumber, so once we are able to obtain more funding, we are looking at another available space in town, and hope to give this idea another go.

I also plan to keep followers apprised on our FB page, so if you are not already following, feel free to do so there. I’m sorry we’ve had so much trouble finding competent contractors to get us to the end. In March, when we started, we had $120,000 in capital to conduct a 60-day, $40,000 renovation, so we were, indeed, fully capitalized to get it done. Unfortunately, the unreliability and incompetence in contractors has been astonishing. Our one exception was Paul Berry, Berry’s Electric (Gonic), who did a GREAT job in a timely manner, so special thanks (and SHOUT-OUT) to Paul for his good work.

God willing, fresh investor capital will find its way to us sooner than later. In the meantime, should things positively develop, subscribers here and on our social media will be the first to know. Thank you for your loyalty and optimism to this point. I sincerely regret we were unable to bring the arcade back to life in our new footprint, at least for now. Stay tuned as we try again soon!

FREE STUFF
We are looking to disburse with the air hockey table, original rod hockey, foosball, and the Arcade 1Up Centipede machine, all of which have no abilities to take coins. Any of you that can remove them from the space by or before the end of this weekend can have them for FREE. Just email me and let me know when you can come pick them up so I can open the door.

Last, the Ms. PacMan machine. Paid $500 for it, but willing to sell it for $250 if someone wishes to take it out by or before the end of this coming weekend.

Good evening everyone:
As you know, the 90-day renovation we started back in March has become a 7-month nightmare. We were well-capitalized for the renovation if we could have gotten open in May or even June. Bottom line is we are now very close to completion, but coming up about $25,000 short of our needs to get open. I originally went looking for private loans, but the few that wanted to give money wanted a percentage of the business which, at the time, I refused. After discussing with a few people, whose opinions & recommendations I trust, I agreed there are benefits to a small amount of equity going into the community. I’ve decided to release up to 20% of the ownership in the arcade to local investors, or up to $50,000. Minimum investment is $2,500 or 1% ownership. ARCADE UPDATE...
We continue to struggle to get to the end of the renovations. Our biggest impediment started out with a General Contractor (GC) that said in March, "90 days start to finish" and by mid August basically abandoned us. I brought in a new "GC" mid Sept who has been a bit more diligent. Our next big issue: plumber. Our first plumber basically did almost everything NOT to code. Now on our 4th plumber, he's agreed to do the work, experienced in restaurant type projects, went on a planned vacation this coming week, but back soon thereafter. We could be open by Thanksgiving, but after all this, no assurances yet. I'm doing everything possible to get Generations up and running again. Will continue to keep everyone apprised.

Arcade update. First, THANK YOU for sticking it out with us during this mercilessly PAINFUL renovation period.

We are nearing our first of 2 sets of inspections on the bar and kitchen. If we can encourage the City to cooperate, we'll be open this month. We're close enough that I'm looking for some feedback. Our bar will start as a beer bar, bottles only, just to get going. We are looking at NH craft beers and some favorites. What are YOUR favorites? What kind of beer would you like to see at Generations?

I'd like to clarify regarding artists creating murals on our walls. I've had 3 people "bash me" about "exploiting" young artists. First, I never said anyone has to work for free. On the other hand, professionals seem to feel their work is laced in gold. I had a "pro" quote me on a mural for an 8' x 20' wall: $5,000. Now maybe some of you are willing to pay $500 for a Big Mac made by an "artist," but I am NOT. I thought it would be fun to give budding young artists a canvas to work that will be seen by thousands of people over time. Good for us, good for them. But no good deed goes unpunished, so NO PROFESSIONALS NEED APPLY. All ambitious artists looking for a couple bucks and exposure can apply. My apologies if this comes of a bit surly, but try to do something nice, and get bashed for it (YIKES). [email protected]

Good morning everyone. Hope I'm not being too talkative here, but want to keep everyone (interested) aware of our progress. Positions we still need to fill: 2 waiters/waitresses; bartender; cook. Still have room for a couple budding artists who might be interested in some mural type work on the walls. We are planning several events between Labor Day and end of year, plus a 2024 Generations calendar. Looking for a photographer who will not charge us thousands of dollars (apologies to those photographers who charge thousands of dollars).
