The Hub Theater The Hub Theater - Rochelle, IL
This is the official web Page of The Hub Theater. It was originally part of the Alger Theaters chain.

Opened in 1931, in Rochelle, IL, this nearly 950-seat Art Deco-style theater operated into the 1950’s. During the 1980’s, the Hub Theater was split into three screens, by twinning the main auditorium and closing off the balcony. It continued to operate as a first-run movie house until early-2011. Today the HUB Theater is closed and facing the possibility of being demolished or being turned into ju

st another gutted building. It is time to step up and save this old theater- Once it;s gone its gone forever........Our goal is to "Save The Hub" and renovate it to its former glory.

Only on Halloween you might see the small gray cat wondering in front of the old Theatre.

There’s has been a long standing tradition in theatres, especially historic theatres, to leave a single lightbulb lit on stage at night. This light is as known as the ghost light!

Theatre tradition and maybe a little superstition say this to light the way for the theatre ghosts and keep them from mischief and harm. The practical sense is that this light provides a means of safety for anyone returning to the stage.
