MOM usually likes to keep Mondays for herself, but this week she's willing to share with (take your pick) Columbus, Indigenous People and Canada. That's because she knows it's next to impossible for anything to overshadow Monday Open Mic at the Bobtown Bar and Grill with its great food, drink, music and laughter. So join old and new friends for a fun evening. Perform if you want. The signup sheet is out at 5:30, the stage opens at 6 and it all wraps up at 9 with the Turn Out the Lights jam. It doesn't take a national holiday to make an evening with MOM special.

It's October and what better time to listen to a few good German songs while enjoying Monday Open Mic at the Bobtown Bar and Grill? You can even don your Lederhosen if you want. Of course all other types of songs and dress are welcome as well. Either way, just grab some food and drink then settle in for a fun evening, because every Monday is a fest when MOM's in charge. The signup sheet is out at 5:30 and usually fills up fast. The stage opens at 6 and it all wraps up at 9 with the Turn Out the Lights jam session. MOM says bring your favorite instrument, but there's not room for them all. Prost!

Even though the days are getting shorter and cooler, the warmth of MOM's Monday evenings with a hot grill, cold drinks and great entertainment stays the same. The schedule is predictable, but MOM always has a few surprises in store. It's why we love her.

MOM suggests taking a cruise to the Bobtown Bar and Grill in Roberts for Monday Open Mic, where you can affordably bask in the warmth of food, friends and music. Just come to listen or step up to perform. Early booking isn't required. Sally cruised in on her Mustang and now riding around is not all she wants to do.

Open mic on Labor Day? It's especially appropriate, because Monday Open Mic at the Bobtown Bar and Grill is a labor of love. Grab a drink and a bite to eat. Perform or just listen. And speaking of labor, over the past 4-plus years MOM has seen an amazing amount of talent brought to life on the stage and, better still, has had the pleasure of watching her musical family grow in both skill and numbers. As John Prine would say, Oh, How Lucky Can One MOM Get?

It's state fair time but MOM says if you want to have a really great experience and not just a fair one, come to Monday Open Mic at the Bobtown Bar and Grill. There's no traffic jam, no admission charge and parking is free, the air conditioning is on, the food selection is great (nothing on a stick but the burger specials are fantastic) and you don't have to climb grandstand stairs to see outstanding performances. You can even be part of it if you want! The signup sheet will be out at 5:30 or a bit before, the stage opens at 6 and it all wraps up at 9 with the Turn Out the Lights jam. MOM says the people watching is great too. Now what could be more fair than that?

MOM is downright excited. After a week off her family will be gathering again for Monday Open Mic at the Bobtown Bar and Grill. Even though there are five Mondays in August, MOM hated to miss one. But the Bobtown's kitchen is now back in full swing with burger specials and more after the renovation, the drinks are cold as always, the signup sheet will again be out at 5:30 or a little before, the stage will open at six and the next three hours will be packed with talent right up to the last note of the Turn Out the Lights jam. It'll put a smile on your face for sure!

Alert! There will be no Monday Open Mic this coming Monday, the 17th, due to some kitchen remodeling at the Bobtown Bar and Grill. The bar will be open, but since the grill offerings are such an important part of our Monday night gatherings, MOM has chosen to take the night off. It is slightly depressing, but she promises you can fill your plate again on the 24th!

MOM loves growing things and nothing makes her happier than watching performers bloom during Monday Open Mic at the Bobtown Bar and Grill. It's MOM's musical seedbed for both beginning performers whose talents are just sprouting all the way to seasoned singer/players who are sending branches out into new challenges. So grab a burger special or other grill item and a cool one, then settle back and watch MOM's garden grow. Perform if you want.
