We have our final Senior Spotlight for you all today!!! Introducing our Senior, Charlotte❤️

14 years ago, I walked into the KMC Studio doors for the first time, and it seems that since that day, I’ve never left. Growing up in the dance studio has been one of my biggest blessings, and I often think about how the studio mirrors have seen me grow in many different ways. They haven’t only seen me grow in age and height, but they’ve also seen me grow as a person and dancer. Now at 18 years old, I’m reflecting on these same studio mirrors. I’m reflecting on the countless hours I’ve spent in the studio working on group dances, and perfecting my solos before a competition weekend. I’m reflecting on why I fell in love with this sport: Expressing myself through movement. When I am alone dancing in the studio, I look in the mirror and see that same little girl dancing so many years ago. As I prepare for my final bow, I have been cherishing every little moment with my best friends throughout the season. Graduating this year seems so surreal to me, and I can’t believe my time at this studio really has come to an end. I have never truly believed the day would come when I have to say goodbye to such a big part of my life. As I head to the University of Iowa this fall, I will carry these lifelong lessons and memories with me. Thank you, KMC, for the best 14 years.

Next up for our Senior Spotlight is Amelia❤️

Hi, my name is Amelia Pence and I’ve been dancing at KMC for 14 years. I started here when I was four years old and have grown up here ever since. My favorite part about dancing is just being on the stage and having fun.
     I am so grateful for all of my 14 seasons here that brought me so much joy. My favorite parts about KMC are the friendships I’ve made over the years. Some friends joined with me at four and are still with me today, and some people joined this year and now I couldn’t imagine dancing without them. I also had the opportunity to dance with my sister for 11 years, which was the best experience for both of us.
     Thank you to all of my teachers for helping me all these years, and thank you to my family for always supporting me at every practice, competition, and at home.
     I am so lucky to have grown up at KMC and I would do it all over again if I could. Next year I will be attending the University of Minnesota to study Biochemistry.

We have another Senior Spotlight for you all!! Introducing our Senior Kaitlyn❤️

Hi, my name is Kaitlyn! And I have been dancing at KMC for 14 years. I am so excited to be celebrating and sharing my senior year with these amazing people. Dance has truly been my second home, and I feel so lucky to have an outlet for my creativity and self-expression. Some of my favorite memories I have made over the years include performing at nursing homes, where we get to give back and share the joy of dance. Competition season has also been such a huge part of my journey. One of my most memorable moments was winning Nationals at Starz last year with my trio and contemporary group, a memory I will never forget! What I will miss most about dance is the everyday laughter in the studio, the adrenaline and excitement of stepping on stage, and all the friendships that made every rehearsal worth it. KMC has shaped me into the person I am today, and I am forever grateful for that. After graduation, I plan to study biomedical research, and no matter where life takes me, dance will always have my heart. Thank you to my teachers, teammates, and family for 14 unforgettable years.
