Happy New Year!

I’m not going to lie, this year has been a challenging one. Both as a small business owner and on a personal level. I’m sure I’m not the only one struggling at times to make sense of it all.

As I finally get a chance to finish up a batch of BirdHouses I started back in June (yep, that’s right, haven’t been able to get in the shop since June), instead of spiraling out about all the negatives, I’m choosing to focus on gratitude. Because despite all the financial and personal struggles I’ve dealt with this year, there is still a multitude of things to be grateful for.

So as I sit in the wood shop and reflect on this year, I’m taking stock and giving thanks for the big and small things in my life. From being in a loving relationship of 16 years to the smell of fresh-cut cedar. No matter how big or small, there is always something to be grateful for.

So maybe instead of making New Year’s resolutions, you give thanks for what you do have. This life is precious and it is not guaranteed.

Happy New Year! I hope 2026 is an amazing year full of successes, happiness and most of all gratitude! 🙏😊🍾🎉
