Three of our La traviata artists just earned spots in the Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition! 🎉

Peyton Wheeler, mezzo-soprano
Ava Knight, lyric coloratura
Rose Guo, contralto

If you're not familiar: the Laffont is the Met's national vocal competition, running since 1954. Qualifying round, then districts, then regionals, then semifinals. And if you make it all the way, you sing on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera. It is not a small thing.

They're also all onstage in La traviata in Roanoke this month. Which means you can hear them here first!

The nice thing about a matinee is that you can make a day of it. Brunch, a little pre-curtain talk, then Verdi. Afterward there's still daylight and somewhere downtown to argue about Germont.
