THE TJ DAVIS RECREATION CENTER CLOSING EARLY
Our building’s air conditioning system is currently out of service.
With indoor temperatures well over 90°F, conditions inside the building are too hot to safely remain open during our normal operating hours.

TEMPORARY HOURS THIS WEEK:
The Recreation Center will close early each day after indoor temp reaches 90 degrees until the air conditioning is repaired.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while repairs are being made.

We are very excited to announce that we are partnering with a local group of volunteers to assist with a new Adaptive Sports League! The first sport will be baseball, and will take place on Saturdays in October. Please sign up in advance via RecDesk.

The staff of Roanoke Rapids Public Library is saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly was a beloved artist and cultural icon, but perhaps just as importantly, she was a lifelong champion of literacy and the belief that everyone deserves access to books. Through the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of children in communities across the globe and inspired generations of young readers to discover the joy of reading.

Today, we’re taking a quiet moment to read in Dolly’s memory and to celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

We will be open today from 9 AM to 6 PM. Feel free to stop by and take your picture with Dolly!
