I needed something to make me feel alive
because somewhere along the way, I went numb.

So I found art.

A place to put the darkness.
A language for everything I couldn’t say.
A way to turn pain into something I could finally look at.

I don’t create because life is beautiful.

I create because sometimes
it’s the only thing that reminds me
I’m still here.

People mistake composure for peace.

From the outside, I probably look like I have my life figured out. Disciplined. Focused. Unshaken. They see the work, the body, the art, the certainty. What they don’t see is the quiet tax that comes with the way my mind works.

There’s a loneliness in complexity. Not because no one is around, but because so few people can stand in the same room as your thoughts long enough to understand them. I don’t share most of my mind anymore.

I’ve spent years trying to figure out whether I’m healing… or simply becoming more efficient at carrying the weight.

I don’t know if I’ll ever be free from the shackles that made me.

Maybe they were never meant to be broken. Maybe they were meant to be carried until they became part of my posture. The pain, the solitude, the endless questioning… they’ve shaped the very mind I’m grateful for and exhausted by at the same time.

It’s a strange existence.

To become everything you once needed… and still feel like there’s a room inside you no one has ever entered. Art is the only way I know how to connect with this world that isn’t even sure they want me here.

I spent years staring at closed doors, convinced the world was keeping something from me.

I thought the opportunity, the success, the peace, the love, the life I wanted was always on the other side of something I couldn’t control.

So I waited. I knocked. I forced. I questioned why some doors opened for others and stayed shut for me.

What I didn’t understand was that the door was never the lesson.

The lesson was becoming the kind of person who no longer needed permission to enter.

Every setback, every rejection, every season of loneliness was quietly shaping me. Building patience where there was once urgency. Building resilience where there was once frustration. Building confidence where there was once doubt.

Then one day, without realizing it, I stopped looking for someone to open the door.

I had become the key.

Not because the world changed.

Because I did.

And once you become the key, you stop seeing obstacles as barriers. You see them as invitations. You stop waiting for opportunities and start creating them. You stop searching for validation and start trusting your own foundation.

The doors didn’t suddenly open.

I simply became someone they could no longer keep out.
