BATMAN / JOKER Playing Card 3D Shadowbox Paper Sculpture
Probably Based on original art by Jose Garcia Lopez & Dick Giordano (uncreditied)
Published by DC and Aquarius Playing Cards
From the deck of Batman playing cards, I decided to make a 3D of the Joker card the the Batman & Joker images for the fun of it in between client orders. Although the artists are uncredited, it appears to be the work of Jose Garcia Lopez and Dick Giordano based on the Style Guide they did for DC.
The backside of the card has the Batman logo which I also did 3D work on. Both fit together back to back inside the TCC Crystal Deck Case held together by small magnets.
The 3D work is a mix of both actual playing card and color laser prints which are easier to cut. & was made to fit into the case.
It is available to purchase. Please send me a PM if interested.

The Superman & Krypto 3D was by artist Alex Ross who I've never met.

NEW 52 ACTION COMICS # 3D Shadowbox Paper Sculpture
Based on original art by Aaron Kudar & Will Quinana
Published by DC Comics 2014
Back around 2015 I did this 3D as a challenge for myself. The actual book had a glossy finish cover so I built up the 3D work using color laser print then used 2 actual glossy covers to put on the top layer.

I showed it to artist at Wondercon in 2016. Eventually I donated the 3D to the Superman Museum in Metropolis, IL. They posted d an unboxing video of it.

Hungarian STAR WARS Comic 3D Shadowbox Paper Sculpture Blue
Original artist unknown
Published in Hungary
A few months ago I was commissioned by Gabriel Kardos, a Canadian who runs a museum in Hungary, to make 3Ds of 2 old Star Wars comic book cover. that were published in Hungary.
I previously posted the first one (orange) in July in time to show around at SDCC.

This second one (blue) had more overlapping small details and took a bit longer. Gabriel had sent me 4 copies of each book requesting that actual covers should be used on the top layers. The 3D work was bullt up using 30 color laser prints. Given all the small overlapping details, it was very difficult to put actual cover material over all the prints. About 95% seen is actual covers.

Both 3Ds will be shipped unframed to his mother's home in Canada where he will pick them up while visiting there mid September.

DOBERMAN #5 3D Shadowbox Paper Sculpture
Based on original art by Bernard Chang
Published by Darby Pop Publishing 2015
This 3D was commissioned by Jeffery Kline, Founder of the independent Darby Pop Publishing in 2015 for his personal collectiion. It was based on original art by Bernard Chang who I later met at numerous local SoCal comic cons. He never saw the actual 3D, just photos of it. Upon attending the Oct 2015 SoCal Comic Con in Carlsbad, CA, I found Darby Pop had a booth and showed the 3D to Renae who was manning the both.
