UCR’s Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production invites you to the New Works Festival! Join us for a two-night event featuring developmental staged readings of brand-new plays written by graduating MFA Playwriting Candidates.

Best of all? It’s FREE and open to the public!

🌲 June 3 @ 7:00 PM: BEASTHOOD by Emma Winiarski Four tween girls at a Catholic wilderness survival camp in rural Massachusetts must band together, face their coming-of-age, and save their kidnapped counselors.

🔥 June 5 @ 7:00 PM: COYOTE HAZING by Gabby Chavez Forced to survive a night on a secluded mountaintop, four fraternity pledges will sacrifice everything to prove they belong to the esteemed Zeta Kappa Phi.

Assistant Professor Megan Tabaque’s play, The Rink at the End of the World, is officially a 2026 O’Neill National Playwrights Conference Finalist! 🙌

Making it even sweeter? Her husband Drew Paryzer is sharing the finalist list with his play, Offshoot! Talk about a powerhouse theater family. 🥂
