HAPPY BIRTHDAY MCMCπππΆπΌπ΅
Three decades ago, the establishment of the Monrovia Community Mass Choir (MCMC) marked a significant milestone in spreading the message of God through music, providing comfort to Liberians during the turbulent sixteen-year civil war. I consider myself lucky to have taken part in the very first MCMC concert held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in January 2004. Memories of rehearsing on church stairs, moving rehearsal spaces multiple times, and the unbreakable bond among MCMC members resurface from my years with the choir in Liberia.
We persevered in keeping the flame burning bright, never faltering. With resolute determination, we expanded MCMC's influence by establishing MCMC-USA as a subsidiary focused on charitable and outreach work in both the USA and Liberia. Looking to the future, I encourage all past and current MCMC members to embody the spirit of Jesus in our everyday lives. Let us support MCMC's mission and vision as we propel this organization to greater heights.
Sis. Sata, I sincerely appreciate your efforts in advancing this vision. To all the directors and musicians, past and present, I express gratitude for your patience, sacrifices, and tireless dedication. Thirty years have gone by, yet we continue to sing about Jesus's redemption and love. Let us persist in singing and lend a helping hand to those less fortunate in our society. Despite our own hardships, there will always be others who are less fortunate than us."
And still, we singπΆπ΅πΌ
