"Anger is a necessary stage of the healing process. Be willing to feel your anger, even though it may seem endless." — Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and David Kessler
-----
It was in parts of my counseling and therapy journey, I realized I've been grieving all my life but especially the last few years and even more intensely the last few months. I'm finally balancing out a little... For now as I move into another wave of acceptance
They say there's stages of grief. Well yes, but it's less of a line and more of a strange intrigate yet chaotic spider web. There's stages, phases, waves and they all repeat. At varying degrees... Until one day you learn to ride the waves, and even surf.
And if you knew my story you'd know why. Why I struggle to be happy.
And even when I seem to be, parts of me may not be. I have learned I thrive better in isolation with a sprinkle of friends interactions. But I also cannot simply live alone, and when I did, I couldn't.
But, battles with anger, I've learned... My anger protects the parts of me that feel betrayed, sad, or scared. That felt like I couldn't stand up for myself or felt like no one was listening.
I discovered this by stopping and asking myself why I'm angry, what I'm feeling, where it started ...and it always starts from feeling hurt in some way.
But anger is part of the process and deserves a healthy outlet.
No emotion should ever be shamed or ridiculed.
We are not all smiles all the time.
Unless you're the joker I guess but we see where that leads.
Also.
Stigma sucks.
Handle your anger, handle your tears, and share both with people who are safe and never on anyone else. We must become the masters of ourselves. And a complete lack of self mastery and discipline can absolutely lead to a complete lack of external control.
But we all must also not keep it in.
We must all be kind. We all are hurting.
And that is why be kind... Because you may be someone's only kindness that day, that minute, that second, or ever in their life.
Just Be kind.
