Going to watercolor portrait class in Trenton TN today. Class with Tuva Stephens, a master portrait painter! Hope I'll have something decent enough to share. I'm going to work on either a Vietnamese man or a sweet older Russian woman. Working from some photos taken by my very talented cousin Marilyn Denny Smith.

Finished with Mr Arnold. He required cleaning, and removed some recent redo attempts, a retouch spray, then paint repair...

Finished with Mr Arnold. He required cleaning, and removed some recent redo attempts, a retouch spray, then paint repairs, and finally new varnish. Found his nose and mouth, and had to scrape off one eye as something had created drips from it. Then redid the eye. Age left holes and streaks so I painted them out. Also put in a shirt collar I believe was missing. Delivered to the couple that asked for repairs. It was well recieved. The painting had been in an attic since the 50's it is thought. I believe he may be shown in an upcoming estate sale.
Eye and collar on the left of the canvas are new.
