“We the People…Did You See That?” is a an original production written by Laurie Shultis, imagining what might happen if the Founding Fathers suddenly time-traveled from 1776 straight into present-day Ripley, West Virginia.

Join us as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence through this patriotic performance on the courthouse lawn at 9:00am on July 4th. Members of WVKOF, Jackson County Players, and Jackson County School of Music are featured, and you can meet them all right here!

Evan McCracken is currently a student at Ripley High School where he has been in every theatre production since his freshmen year. While juggling grades and vice-presidency of the theatre club, he is also in the Phoenix Blue show choir and in the marching band as well, where he plays tenor drums. Evan is very thankful for his family's support, and all the opportunities God has given him. He is very excited to show off his patriotic side as John Adams.

“We the People… Did You See That?” is a an original production written by Laurie Shultis, imagining what might happen if the Founding Fathers suddenly time-traveled from 1776 straight into present-day Ripley, West Virginia. Filled with humor, heart, and small-town charm, the script blends history with modern-day culture in a way that is both thought-provoking and entertaining.

While Laurie serves as the writer and visionary behind the production, she proudly handed the directorship to longtime WV STAR Anna Grace Hays, whose remarkable creativity and leadership have brought the story to life on stage. WVKOF has always believed in giving its STARS a voice, an opinion, and meaningful involvement in every aspect of production, making this collaboration a true celebration of local talent and community storytelling.
