I’ve been going at this 36” x 48” for awhile now. I keep changing the background colors. I think I’m finally happy with the blues, but now I’m thinking I need to get more desaturated or maybe go with a different color variation on that sun circle.
I’ve got some other things started, so I’ll give it a rest for now.

Experimenting with a whole new direction. This is a small experimental painting I did as part of a lesson in the workshop I’m taking this summer. Working on design and controlling values for a stronger composition. Her face is a little wonky because it is totally out of my head, but I am enjoying this new direction and may remake this on a much bigger panel with a photo reference for the face. High key painting using yellow and violet complements.
