I'm so excited to announce that "White Winged Dove" was juried into this year's Birds In Art at the Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI. There were 1108 artworks submitted by 672 artists internationally and only 101 pieces were selected!!! Wow!! I'm so honored to be able to participate again.

The White Winged Dove is a common sight here in my neck of the Sonoran desert, so much so that it is easy to overlook just how beautiful they are. This one here shows off its range of colors in the reflection of the sunlight as it's perched on a cholla skeleton.

I got another smaller piece completed; this one is from a lovely reference photo courtesy of photographer Karen Jackson. I debated adding color, but this just looks so good as it is! "Flower Child", 6" x 6".

Here‘s the finished artwork from the demo I started during the Fountain Hills Art League‘s Tour D‘Art. It‘s a broad billed hummingbird done from a photo I took in the Madera Canyon region of Arizona. „Canyon Dweller“, 6“ x 6“.
