TLDRL: I'm changing from a ceramics studio to a sculpture studio. Stay tuned for sculptures in metal, cement, etc...
It's been too long since I posted. Most of you know I moved from New Mexico to Arizona last year. This consisted of uprooting my studio from a full sized studio to a corner of my garage. It has been a year of blessings in my personal life, but a year of struggle for my art.
Moving into this new year I am instilled with renewed hope. Having been recently forced to take a good look at my long term plans, I tried to live a life without my art. I quickly fell into a state of depression and loss of fulfillment. I just can't stay away!
Because of this need to continue creating, I needed to find a means of creating that meets the confines of my smaller space. I no longer have access to a kiln, which would allow me to continue doing ceramics. However, I have recently found a new place that will allow me to make molds and cast items in any media I choose.
The plan is to change my ceramics studio into a sculpture studio. This will allow me freedom to create at any time in a relatively mess free, climate controlled environment without needing to build a studio space or have the expense of building a kiln house. Both of which are an expense that is beyond my reach right now.
This new format of sculpture would also allow me to create items that would cost less to make and sell.
I am very excited about this new direction and I hope you will stay with me on this journey. If you want to see more and maybe help support this journey visit my Patreon page. https://www.patreon.com/ArtOfChandra
